Strength and Conditioning

Elevate Performance, Enhance Endurance

Train with the Pacific Tigers Athlete Performance team to improve your strength and endurance. This program teaches you how to prepare yourself to be the best athlete possible. Our experienced team of trainers work with you on strength and conditioning, mobility, recovery and nutrition to increase your physical capabilities for sport and life.

Sports science software is utilized for testing the student-athletes’ strength, speed and power outputs. This information is utilized to help understand where to invest more time in their training. This program is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to enhance their athletic abilities while learning to take care of the most important thing in sport, their body.

Curriculum

Skill and Drills that our student-athletes learn include proper lifting technique, exercise selection, optimal work-to-rest ratios, sprinting/jumping mechanics and more.

Daily technique assessments and adjustments that are based on their individual biomechanics and anthropometry.

Proper progressions and regressions based on the student-athlete’s current level of training will be utilized. Our team will also teach them what to progress to once they master their current level.

After workout
Planned Topics

Weightlifting, plyometrics, speed testing/mechanics, jump testing/mechanics, and calisthenics are all be covered.
Each day, our student-athletes learn how to apply Strength and Conditioning to a specific sport, with the opportunity to perform drills/play in that sport in the afternoon. 
Nutrition and recovery are also always in the focus, allowing our student-athletes to prepare themselves to always be ready to compete and train.

Mason Mathews has served as Director of Athletic Performance since April 2024 and works directly with the men’s basketball, men's tennis and men’s golf programs. He has 10 years of experience training college athletes in Football, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Soccer, Golf, Volleyball, Track/XC and Bowling. He is certified with his CSCS, USAW Lvl 1 (Olympic Lifting) and TPI Lvl 1 (Golf Assessments).
