James Wirrell
Professor Wirrell is the Associate Dean for Library Services at McGeorge and a Professor of Law, Legal Practice. His law librarian career has spanned more than 25 years, having worked in the law libraries at UC Law – San Francisco (formerly Hastings), the University of Illinois, and the University of Richmond. He has been at McGeorge since 2003 first as a reference librarian and since 2013 as the Associate Dean for Library Services.
Originally from Canada, Professor Wirrell earned his JD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and also has an LLB from the University of British Columbia. He has a Master of Science in Library and Information Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Regent College (at the University of British Columbia), and a BA from Simon Fraser University in Canada.
Professor Wirrell has recently written a chapter in the book Academic Library Structures: Past Present and Future.
Professor Wirrell teaches Global Lawyering Skills I and II, and Advanced Legal Research.
