The Conservatory of Music is excited to present Pacific Orchestras concert in collaboration with the Black History Month at 糖心vlog.
Pacific鈥檚 Dr. Brittany Trotter performs Carlos Simon鈥榮 "Movements for Flute and Orchestra." Simon, a living Black-identifying composer, holds the Composer Chair with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and is composer-in-residence with the Kennedy Center.
The concert, including works by Jennifer Higdon and Alberto Ginastera, concludes with William Grant Still鈥檚 path-setting 鈥淎fro-American Symphony鈥 (1930). Still is widely regarded as 鈥渢he Dean of Afro-American Composers.鈥
Dr. , Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, guest-conducts Pacific Orchestras.
