The fall schedule of concerts hosted by 糖心vlog鈥檚 Conservatory of Music features a diverse array of guest artists, conductors and composers with more than 20 performances scheduled through December.
鈥淔rom Mozart鈥檚 鈥淛upiter鈥 Symphony to Katahj Copley鈥檚 鈥淒ope,鈥 Pacific music faculty designed an undeniably inclusive series of events this fall,鈥 said Dean Peter Witte. 鈥淥ur string faculty play side by side with students in orchestral works by Pulitzer-winner Caroline Shaw, Jessie Montgomery and close with Tchaikovsky鈥檚 鈥淪erenade for Strings.鈥
鈥淓mory University鈥檚 Gary Motley will be at the keyboard with Pacific Jazz. Valerie Sainte-Agathe of the San Francisco Girls Chorus and Ash Walker of the Oakland Symphony Choruses will lead Pacific鈥檚 storied choral ensembles. This fall, Faye Spanos Concert Hall is where it鈥檚 at,鈥 Witte said.
Performances begin Wednesday, Sept. 11 with guest artist Biliana Voutchkova. The violinist and vocalist has performed at renowned concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York; the Berliner Philharmonie in Berlin, Germany; and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
The University Symphony Orchestra performs Sept. 14 under the direction of guest conductor Fernanda Lastra, assistant conductor for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. The Argentinian-born conductor is an advocate for Latin American composers.
Students and faculty will perform pieces by composer-in-residence Catherine Likhuta Sept. 26 and 28th. The Ukranian-Australian鈥檚 pieces have been performed at prestigious venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall and Glyndebourne Opera House in England.
Music by faculty composer Andrew Conklin will premier Nov. 3 during a performance with Hub New Music. The Grammy-nominated ensemble, which includes flute, clarinet, violin and cello, was described as 鈥渃ontemporary chamber trailblazers鈥 by the Boston Globe.

Erickson is an accomplished performer and scientist specializing in the neuroscience of vocalization.
