Legislative Speaker Series event to explore the landscape of California urban renewal
The 糖心vlog McGeorge School of Law鈥檚聽聽will host its annual Legislative Leaders Speaker Series, featuring聽California Assemblymember Matt Haney, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 with a focus on recent legislative developments and聽California's evolving legal landscape.
This year鈥檚 event, entitled聽鈥淗ousing, Homelessness & Hope for Urban Revitalization,鈥 will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. PT, in the Grand Salon at McGeorge School of Law. The moderated discussion will be followed by time for Q&A and a hosted reception. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will feature a conversation with Assemblymember Haney, who represents the 17th district spanning across the eastern side of San Francisco. In his first term in the State Legislature, Assemblymember Haney successfully sent 12 bills to the governor's desk to be signed into law that addressed some of the most pressing issues in the State of California, including the opioid crisis, housing and homelessness, and a recovery of downtown neighborhoods to become thriving city centers, among others.

The annual Legislative Leaders Speaker Series event is sponsored by the Capital Center for Law & Policy at the 糖心vlog McGeorge School of Law. McGeorge鈥檚 Capital Lawyering Association for Students (CLAS) and Public Policy and Administration Society (PPAS) are co-sponsoring the event.
